Glock vs. 1911 Comparison – HD

By admin · Saturday, February 13th, 2010

In this vid I compare my 1911 pistol to my Glock.

It isn’t a very good comparison because the two are so different.

Tell me what you think!!

I would say the …
I would say the failures I had initially were pretty minor. Every failure was the same thing. I don’t know if you would call it a failure to feed, but it would feed the next round into the chamber, but the chamber wouldn’t close all the way. It would come about 1/8″ or 3/16″ shy of locking up all the way. That problem seems to have subsided.

Wow, really?

I …
Wow, really?

I guess it all comes down to some luck of the draw on new guns. I’ve had my Kimber for a little over a year now with a few thousand rounds through it and I’ve NEVER had one jam, faliure to feed, misfire, or anything … and that’s from round 1.

Anyway, thanks for responding to my question! Take care and keep making videos!!!

Thanks for the …
Thanks for the comment…I think that’s a great question.

I think there is more than one reason. Trust me I love my Kimber, but I have had it for about two years and I’ve had my Glock since 2001.

I probably have about 500 rounds through my Kimber and maybe as much as 3,000 rounds through my Glock. So I have A LOT more trigger time w/ my Glock. I had feeding issues w/ my Kimber when it was new. It’s better now but I never had any issues w/ the Glock. It’s a combination of things.

Liked the video. I …
Liked the video. I realize that it’s difficult trying to compare the two because they are so different but I do have a question.

I too am a Kimber owner and I LOVE IT! Was wondering what makes the Glock your “go to gun” over the Kimber? Is it accuracy, higher round count or is it just pure personal preference?

I don’t own a Glock … closest thing I have to it is my Sig P250 which is a very nice handgun but I don’t think it has anything on my Kimber.

Thanks for the vid! Take Care!!!

glocks go boom …
glocks go boom every time, atleast that is my experience with my glock 26/27/30 over a 5 year period not 1 jam or misfeed, 1911’s are not nearly as realiable as a glock

As with many things …
As with many things (Cars, Appliances, electroncs,Guns…) You get what you pay for. Better materials (Stainless Steel V.S Plastic), and tighter engineering tolarances result in improved accuracy and reliability. It all comes down to how much quality means to YOU, and IF you’re willing to pay for it. You cant drive a Mercedes and hope to make volkswagen payments. And as for capacity..They do sell additional clips.

Thanks. I love it!
Thanks. I love it!

damn oh and nice …
oh and nice 1911

Not sure probably about 1500 rounds or so….

By superassassin47 on February 13th, 2010 at 1:29 pm

cool background…
cool background…

About how much …
About how much would 1500 rounds cost?

but what i am …
but what i am getting at is u don’t have to like 1911’s or glocks… use what u feel u can depend on and if u can’t get the job done with 7rnds…. u probibly need to train again. if u fell u can depend on a glock go with it…. if u like 1911’s go with it if u like wheel guns go with um

well then i must …
well then i must have 10+ gocks that jam every 200-500 shots…. and u may say i bought them and it was a crappy batch but i have an orginal 17 and it has the same probs as my 2009 17 i am not saying their are probs for every one with um i just have to say they don’t work for me as a defence gun because every 200-500rnds is not dependable for me and btw my 1911’s are heavy at 3.5 trigger btw ur pistol should be what u use to fight back to ur rifle…. i know i can depend on my 1911’s

Funny enough if …
Funny enough if that’s a G26 I have that gun and my roommate has that Kimber. We went to the range a week ago and I out shot him in accuracy and speed with my Glock. I had his Kimber jam on me, my Glock has NEVER jammed. If you want to complain about the trigger of a Glock change it to the competition trigger like I did.(bought the G26, 3.5lb competition trigger with short reset, 33 round mag, and it comes with 2 10rd mags, still paid only a lil more than half what my buddy paid for his Kimber)

i have to say being …
i have to say being a guy who loves hi caps and owns more then a few of each i have to say i am a 1911 guy because glocks are my fun guns and that weight helps a lot in rapid fire i keep a 1911 and a mossberg 500 by the bed because i believe in using what u trust…. i have never had any 1911 jam and i have put over 100k threw my fav 1911 always seem to have probs with glocks,,,, i will say if u like glocks go for um but even with the 10+ i own i won’t use um for more then paper

I have quite a few …
I have quite a few boxes of ammo. I just dumped some out……I’d say you’re looking at about 1500 rounds.

Just wondering …
Just wondering where did you get all those rounds to just lay randomly everywhere

Thanks for checking …
Thanks for checking out the vid!

Good points…….see that’s why you have to have both!!

great video, I like …
great video, I like both guns, but I’d rather have a 1911 for concealed carry because of how slim it is. However, if I needed a serious combat pistol, I would get a Glock 22, you can’t beat 15 rounds of .40 S&W

I never shoot up …
I never shoot up all my ammo. I like to have a good stash. You never know they might stop selling it someday!

When do you plan on …
When do you plan on using it all? hahaha

Definitely not going to break into your house any time soon.

Probably about $500 …
Probably about $500….I didn’t buy it all at one time though lol.
