I think the A550 …
I think the A550 and the A 850 is a bargain, for the moment will drool over the EOS 7D.

i’ve been intrested in this camera since i heard about them. i expected perhaps a little more from the alpha. very helpfull review…however i think i will stick to my EOS 350d for the time being! it’s the perfect entry level DSLR imo!

Not necessarily. …
Not necessarily. One of the biggest deciding factors in image quality is the lens used, not the sensor. Although, a bad sensor will make a bad image. Megapixels don’t matter nearly as much as the rest of the camera though.
Usually when your …
Usually when your camera can’t seem to focus it’s because the scene lacks contrast.
Video is one of …
Video is one of those really cool features to have. I think a lot of beginners would expect a more expensive camera to have video…Because all of the compact cheap cameras have video.

Great video, keep up the awesome reviews. I love being able to easily keep up to date on the newest cameras.

In answer to …
In answer to everyone who’s commented about my shaky hands – yes, I do shake, but you have to remember I’m holding the camera in a pretty uncomfortable position only a few inches from the camcorder. Try doing that for a couple of hours as you do retakes and you’ll begin to shake too! The short distance from the camera also magnifies any wobbles.

I will be reviewing the A550 when Sony gets one to me. No plans to do an HX1 review on YT, but I have a full review of it at cameralabs . com – and of the Nikon P90.
I deliberately …
I deliberately pointed the camera at a white wall for that test, so the camera couldn’t focus – that forces it to go through the full range of focusing for the demo.

Sorry, just out of me being a bit nosey, what do you use?
interesting to see …
interesting to see that even though the camera wasn’t moved between focussing at 8m43s,when you half-pressed to focus, it focussed in 3 different areas-first right of centre then left of centre then right of centre again (even my canon does that from time to time) even though the camera is on a tripod and pointed exactly at the same subject.
why is this? thanks.
Good to see you …
Good to see you back Gordan.

Will you do a video review of Sony DSC HX-1???
