well the samsung is …
well the samsung is clearly better video quality but it picks up too much sound

very impressive!!! …
very impressive!!! the iphone colours at 0:35 are better than samsung camera!!!

the 3GS camera …
the 3GS camera stacks up pretty well as far as cellphone cameras are concerned, and good upclose focus, but the samsung is better no contest with the exception of the upclose plant shot.

its the samsung …
its the samsung innov8?

You can clearly …
You can clearly hear that the Samsung NV8 picks up audio better

audio is way better …
audio is way better on iPhone 3GS, overall i prefer iPhone 3GS’s camera

iphone 3gs isn’t …
iphone 3gs isn’t good in low light settings

iPhone 3Gs has a …
iPhone 3Gs has a better focus on close objects but it’s video quality is not good enough S:

even for PICTURE …
even for PICTURE quality – it is not all about the MP count !! — even more so for VIDEO quality. The lens size and quality, the autofocus accuracy, the white balance, the compression (esp for video) — ALL play a very important role as well as the MP count.

very nice …
very nice comparison (esp with the sound swap) !!
thanks for posting !!

Bad thing with …
Bad thing with iPhone camera is the software, not the hardware or “megapixel”. Just like iSight on MB/pro. The OS always trying to balance (auto adjust) brightness/contrast. iPhone users can’t take control of it. (thank God there’s iGlasses app for iSight).

Try take a picture of black on white drawing from your computer screen. You can’t! Now adjust the computer brightness, and notice the iPhone is trying to adjust it too!

IMO, the camera auto adjust in iPhone is ultra crap.

reptilexcq, more …
reptilexcq, more Megapixels are bad for small sensors.

Woops! I …
Woops! I accidentally deleted someone’s comment when trying to click on the reply button. Really sorry.

It was regarding Apple’s marketing scheme of reserving better video quality for future models. The argument could be that they want to limit the file size for direct upload to YouTube via 3G network.

samsung baby always …
samsung baby always wins that’s why i love that brand!

Packing more pixels …
Packing more pixels onto a sensor can worsen the quality, i.e. the higher the pixel density, the less light reaches each photosite in each pixel cell. This is why DSLRs are so much better than compact cameras, e.g. I had a Nikon D100 which had 6 megapixels only, but it still beats the 8-megapixel Samsung NV8 by miles because of the larger sensor.

Whoever does that …
Whoever does that is a bad reviewer. Like seriously bad. I think you should look up one of David Pogue’s old videos regarding quantity vs quality.

Well …all i know …
Well …all i know is that the higher the Megapixel, the better the quality. Look at all the phones and compare them by Megapixel, they’re better as megapixel gets higher. That is why reviewers talk about megapixel and not anything else.

Nothing to do with …
Nothing to do with that really. You must remember that both cameras output VGA (as in 640×480) videos, and the sharpness depends on the optics and physical size of the lenses i.e. not the resolution. Even with a 5MP or 8MP camera, the iPhone will still give a worse quality than a normal camera on videos with the same resolution.

by the way, other …
by the way, other phones can take higher megapixel photos, but wait till you try to browse thru them on your phone… you will be waiting and waiting.. very unlike iphone

The quality is …
The quality is acceptable

3 Megapixel vs 8.1 …
3 Megapixel vs 8.1 Megapixel, of course the Samsung is much more clearer. I hope iPhone upgrade to 5.0 or 8.1 next version. I hate they keep teasing us with a little bit of upgrade this and little bit upgrade that instead of just pour everything out. And I KNOW it’s a marketing strategy because if they put everything out…they have nothing much to offer in the future.
