Digital Camera recommendations?
I my HP digital camera recently broke due to water damage. I was using HP Photosmart E317 and I loved it. The features I liked best were:
Used SD card memory
Fast shuttle time (no awkwardness waiting for the flash -ever)
good on NIMH batteries (didn’t suck battery life when turned off)
recorded video clips with audio. Video clips could be up to 30min long if you had a large enough SD card.
The featuers I didn’t really like were:
Video clips were poor resolution
Before this camera, I had a different HP digital camera which I used for 3 years. Both of these cameras lasted for over 10,000 pictures and were bought for pretty cheap ($89 Canadian).
I was going to just buy whatever low-end HP camera was on sale currently, but I can’t find HP cameras on sale anywhere!
Did they stop making them?
I really don’t know anything about the other brands (Kodak, Canon, Olympia). All I know is my mom has a Canon and always goes through those awkward moments where the flash takes forever and people’s smiles aren’t genuine anymore. I hate that.
Can anyone recommend a good digital camera that has all the features I like and is less than $150 Canadian? Or any good digital camera guide resources?
Thanks
My previous camera was HP Photosmart 635 and I had it from Dec. 2003 to May 2007.
Whoops, actually my current camera is a HP Photosmart E427 not a 317. The online camera guide was inaccurate.
Since "first shot delay" is of concern to you, you might want to consider a Pentax Optio M50, it sells for about $120US.
