F-86 Sabre Jet Flying Colours over Peterborough Riverview Park & Zoo 428 Wing RCAF Plane Restoration
If you ever decide to visit Peterborough Ontario Canada, you must stop by the Riverview Park & Zoo to see the vintage Sabre jet fighter aircraft on static display. Erected in 1971 and recently it was taken down and given a new paint job by a local company “Flying Colours”. A piece of real world history you can see up close. These planes where used in WWII and Korea. Listen to the birds chirping in the video clips which were recorded Saturday June 13, 2009 using my KODAK Z650 digital camera. I was standing probably thirty feet from Water Street in a very quiet area of town. At the end of this video is a 360 degree view of the surrounding area. ENJOY! Visit Peterborough.
The plaque at the base reads:
Citizens, remember
That in another time
Young men become Airmen
To fly in foreign and hostile skies
Many returned
Some did not
Those who died
Are remembered
By those who live
